BREAKING: May Makes ‘Emergency Trip’ To Brussels
Theresa May is flying to Brussels today in a bid to break the Brexit ‘deadlock’. David Davis will be her traveling companion as she and Mr Davis meet the infamous EU Chief Negotiator, Michel Barnier and European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.
Reading the reports of Mrs May’s trip I couldn’t help but notice the air of sheer desperation of the as she scrambles to avoid a ‘No Deal’ conclusion to negotiations. Not only is she making this trip today but she has begged Angela Merkel to intervene and she has rung the No10 phone off-the-hook, talking to EU President Donald Tusk and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte.
Remainer May talks tough rhetorically but then through her actions shows her willingness to slavishly capitulate to every demand the EU makes. It is little wonder that Barnier confidently stated a few days ago that the EU would offer “no concessions”. Can anybody remember a single news report of a major concession that had been granted to Britain since these negotiations began?
The Prime Minister really is the weakest link in these talks. She has no credibility as being seriously committed to Brexit and the best interests of Britain. UKIP must now step-forward and bring all the pressure to bear on the government it possibly can. In that light, Henry Bolton’s committment to mobilisation as a means of bringing pressure to bear on the government is a welcome one. However, we must realise that this pressure will have little effect with the current Prime Minister in office. The only way for us to achieve Out Now is to insist that Mrs May get Out Now and make way for a Prime Minister who will deliver on the settled will of the British people.
