Lee Jasper Excuses Labour MP’s Blatant Racism
Labour and the left, always quick to hurl accusations of racism at their political opponents, seem not to like it when the shoe is on the other foot. Emma Dent Coad was caught red-handed (no pun intended) dismissing Conservative, Shaun Bailey, as a ‘token ghetto boy’.
Ms. Dent Coad’s blog has proven to be something of a treasure trove for those hunting for evidence of obnoxious sentiment. The Sun unearthed a tasteless doodle of a ‘new’ Conservative logo with a, presumably politically blue, stickman, swinging from the branches.
None of this deterred Lee Jasper, Red Ken’s ex-right hand man, from wading in to defend Ms. Dent Coad though. He launched a vicious attack on the ‘mendacious’ Mr. Bailey, accusing him of careerism:
Shaun Bailey, on the other hand, is a desperately ambitious young man who is keen to progress within the Conservative party and to become an MP.
Amazingly, Mr Jasper continued:
So when I heard about the article, I first checked to see whether there was something I didn’t know about Emma that would be a genuine cause for concern. But when I dug into it, I quickly realised that it was just an attempt to fit her up with accusations of racism that bore no relation to the truth.
In saying they ‘bore no relation to the truth’ is Mr Jasper saying that Dent Coad never used the words she blatantly did? Notice how he carefully words his comments to avoid denying explicitly that she used those words – that, most definitely, is not an accident.
Mr Jaspar may have been taking advice from Ms. Dent Coad on evasiveness as she has struggled to get her stories straight. When first confronted with the news this is how it was spun:
Ms Dent Coad’s spokesman said it was clear in the original post she had been quoting Mr Bailey’s “own comments… plus those of his Conservative colleagues on Kensington and Chelsea Council”.
Ms Dent Coad told BBC Radio London she had been quoting “an Afro-Carribean” constituent in her blog.
Which is it???
The reality is that yet again, the dark side of the Labour Party has been cruelly exposed, far from being a shining beacon of tolerance is a cesspool of bigotry and intolerance.
