EXPOSED: Diane Abbott Caught On Phone In Parliament During Corbyn Speech
Diane Abbott was caught live on TV texting during Prime Minister’s Questions while her boss, Jeremy Corbyn, was speaking. The Hackney MP was the only MP on the frontbench not paying attention to her leader.
Mr Corbyn said: “Two weeks ago the opposition to us the Tories over there were very noisy.”
Conservative MPs began laughing as they asked why they were being called the “opposition”.
He continued: “You are the Government, we’re the opposition.
“You’re in opposition to us. It’s not complicated. It’s not complicated.”
At one point, Labour’s Deputy Leader – Tom Watson – appeared to glance over at Mrs Abbott, hiding his horror with laughter. While Corbyn himself did not notice, he will likely have been furious that she was so rude as to ignore him.
Twitter users were quick to take to their keyboards to expose Abbott’s rudeness and ignorance of parliamentary proceedings. One Tweet said:

However, as some other users pointed out, it is not uncommon for MPs to be on their phones during parliamentary proceedings, but usually not during Prime Minister’s Questions.
