PESCO – The Erosion of Our Sovereignty
Quite rightly there is a public outcry over Theresa Mays treacherous so called ‘deal’ but there is little mention of PESCO which it would appear the Tories are forcing through to gain favour during their capitulating negotiation.
Like a lot of acronyms, it sounds innocent enough but PESCO stands for Permanent Structured Cooperation – basically a Deepening of Defense Cooperation among EU Member States.
The Conservative Government would willingly sign us up to an arrangement that means;
• Our armed forces will be centrally controlled in Brussels, with unelected EU bureaucrats controlling the deployment of our military personnel
• Our military procurement will have to be put out to tender across the EU where we would, without doubt be undercut causing our manufacturing base to collapse with our hardware built in foreign factories. Therefore our military assets would no longer be secret, ‘back doors’ could be put in to programming systems and we would be beholden to other EU states for spares or munitions.
As UKIP Leader Henry Bolton recently stated ‘the Government are telling us that no final decisions have yet been made about whether the UK will participate in PESCO. You would have thought they would have made up their mind by now. Theresa May’s government intends to slip this in without anyone noticing. If they do, I, my party and the country will never forgive them.”
Theresa’s flag may be white, but mine is Red, White and Blue, I will not stand quietly by whilst the Tories allow our nation to become subordinate to the EU, the question is will you?
