Farage SLAMS Remoaner MP Mike Gapes: “Fake News!”
In a Twitter tirade this week, former UKIP Leader Nigel Farage has blasted the remoaner Labour MP Mike Gapes as being “#FakeNews” after Gapes accused Farage of attending conferences in Russia.
However, Farage himself claims that he has never been to Russia, and it is rather unlikely that he has been to a conference there that he was unaware of.
In a tweet, Nigel said:
Yesterday in the House of Commons, @MikeGapes said I attended conferences in Russia. I’ve never been to Russia in my life.

Will you please withdraw your comment, Mr Gapes? This is #FakeNews.

However, as one might expect, no such withdrawal followed of any kind. Just to keep the pressure on, Nigel tweeted the following day saying:

Gapes said: “Putin has, over recent years, tried to develop a relationship with various groups in Europe to further his own national interest
“He has used, in that process, a man — an ideologist — from the far-right who has connections with the American alt-right and with people including Nick Griffin, Nigel Farage, and Marine Le Pen, who all attended conferences in Russia.”
Evidently, this isn’t the case…
