I simply don’t understand anyone having a problem with UK/GB fishing waters. Such waters are OURS, and that means NOT THEIRS. Many fishing communities are waiting for the nonsense of this part of our membership to be over, and it is an integral part of Brexit. THIS IS OF HIGH IMPORTANCE !

The problem with our fishing grounds is not the boundaries but the licensing of the fishing fleets. When we joined the EEC our waters were licensed to all British fleets some of which who subsequently sold their licenses to foreign operators. To reclaim our borders is one thing but how will we control the foreign fleets ? Will we insist that they land all of their catches in the UK, which could mean the EU banning the exports of our fish products in retaliation or do we revoke the licences and cause trouble that way. This is not a political problem but a legal one that will have to addressed in good time.

Good point Geoffrey. However with a total break from the EU, surely what was, will be again ! Change made by a Nation, overrides business arrangements. Our country found that to be the way of things, to our cost around the world. It is highly non British, but then I think it is time we looked after our interests first.
Anyway, how things are being done by Maggie May, a total break with the EU seems unlikely !
