New Year’s Message From Kipper Central
It’s been quite a year, hasn’t it! We started out without a UKIP under Paul Nuttall’s leadership, when we had to fight a snap General Election that we simply weren’t ready for. Despite this, we still managed to get over half a million votes, which is by no means insignificant.
After this somewhat demoralising defeat, our party took a serious look at itself and what we represent, in the form of a leadership election. Were we primarily to be an anti-Islam party, a pro-Direct Democracy party, a pro-Brexit party or even something else? What we chose is to be a party of Britain – fighting for Brexit and against the radical fringes of Islam, for the decent ordinary British people and against the traitors but crucially, for Britain and against anyone that seeks to do our nation harm.
Under Henry’s leadership, we have risen in the polls, launched our first ever non-Brexit national campaign to save our public services and have started to tackle the many internal problems of our relatively young party. While some elements of an establishment within UKIP seem to be pulling the strings, we are moving forward on this front and many others. 2018 can be the year where UKIP – and therefore Brexit – partake in a great global revival of straight talking, common sense politics. We just have to fight for it!
For Kipper Central, 2017 has been a truly amazing year! Besides the rise in views of over 2700%, we have acquired so many excellent new writers and have truly begun to build up relationships with our readers which really is the mark of growth in any website. With a total of 413,000 views – almost 75% of which were in in the last four months – we are seriously progressing to become a huge site in the UKIP political sphere. Last month (December), we averaged around 3,100 views per day – a figure which we could have but dreamed of when I first set up Kipper Central at the age of 14.
First and foremost, the editorial team would like to say a massive thank you to our readers and all those who have written for us this year. You make Kipper Central what it is and without you, we would be talking to ourselves! Because you are the most important part of the blog – and the reason we do what we do – we are sure you will be delighted to know we will be aiming even higher this year; not just in terms of our coverage and the number of views we achieve but in terms of our ambition to become an organic part of the renewal of UKIP and leading the charge for the Brexit 17 million people voted for on that historic day back in 2016.
As you are all aware, Brexit is in danger and it faces the peril of false friends, like the current occupant of Downing Street and the overt danger posed by the likes of Mr Corbyn. It is currently accepted political wisdom that the left dominates social media but we want to challenge that wisdom and carve a space for a clear, unified voice of the patriotic majority in Britain – the unheard; the people that are treated with contempt by the mainstream media and the left alike. We want you to be a part of that. We will be looking to recruit aspiring journalists to write for us and be part of what is a growing online presence, we will be looking at developing links and strong working relationships with other sites and we will, of course, be continuing to provide an open channel of communication between the grassroots of UKIP and the Party leadership. So, 2017 was both trying and awesome in equal measure and we expect nothing less from 2018. Stick with us, get in touch and be part of it, even if you only share an article you are an integral part of the Kipper Central family and we wish you and your families health and happiness for your 2018.
