Hoey: Labour Must Stop The “Farce” Of Pretending To Accept Brexit
Kate Hoey, Labour MP for Vauxhall and ardent-Brexiteer co-Chair of Labour Leave, lashed out at the Labour leadership for the “farce” of it “pretending to accept the referendum result while doing everything possible to sabotage it”. She also berated Lord Adonis for “despising” ordinary people and called on the Party to ignore him.
Ms Hoey has bravely spoken out from the Labour benches despite being berated and constantly heckled by the hardcore Remoaning Parliamentary Labour Party. She used her article in the Daily Telegraph to argue that British independence would present significant opportunities to enhance workers rights and that they did not stem from the EU but the trade union movement.
The Labour leadership now needs to listen to the voices of its core supporters outside London and commit to a fast, clean “Leave”. The people were asked and the answer was given. In a democracy that is enough.
Tony Blair, Lord Heseltine and Lord Adonis are “hysterical doom mongers” but those who voted Leave are “even more sure that they are right” and should start 2018 in an “optimistic” mood Ms Hoey wrote.
How much impact her piece will have in a Labour Party that has now gone full-Remoaner is however questionable. Brexiteers know that the Labour Party is not their friend and if it gets even within an inch of government that it will use that power to snuff Brexit out and trample on the will of the people.
