Brexiteer Carole Malone BLASTS Rude Alistair Campbell
Mr Campbell claimed that Brexit supporters had claimed that Brexit would be “straightforward” and that Ms Malone would “rabbit on” but, understandably riled, Ms Malone instantly hit back:
So patronising. That’s what you are famous for, patronising people. No one said Brexit would be straightforward, everyone said there would be problems initially. Show me the quote that says somebody said Brexit was going to be straightforward. and I’ll take it back and apologise.
She also rejected calls for another referendum and refuted Nigel Farage’s claim that another referendum would silence “whingers” like Mr Campbell:
What he, Farage, said was that another referendum would ‘silence the wingers and the whiners.’ But it wouldn’t because people like yourself believe you are right about Europe and nothing – even if there was another referendum and Leave won by another three or four percent – would silence the likes of you.
What you are saying is that if Leave won a second time you would still fight to have this overturned again. If the people voted a second time to leave the European Union, you would still fight to overturn that.
Mr Campbell pathetically claimed that this was justified by people having the right to “change their mind”.
I don’t understand why the press gives this fruitcake air time. He’s so yesterday – and he didn’t amount to much when he was spinning for the war criminal Tony Blair either. He’s also a personal wreck – so why does the press or anybody else bother about what he says? I don’t.
There is nothing new about people like Campbell. No matter what, they always insist that their view of things is right. Life was so simple as a schoolboy, back in the 1950s. You either walked away from such a boy, or gave him a good punch on the nose. These days of total PR, we can’t do that, and adults that do, get charged with assault !
