This section of the manifesto is the best yet. I particularly like the plan for defense, and the cover given for 12 year service Veterans. This is about time, and my congratulations to you Marv. Really well done !
I don’t know if Maggie May has thought about this, but if Argentina had another go for the Falklands, we would not be able to respond as we did with Thatcher. Bang would go her reputation, such as it is, and the semi resident forces on those islands, could be swamped by a huge number of enemy. (I hasten to add that I have not heard anything !) !

    Good Morning Marv.
Regarding the QE2 carriers . It’s now been confirmed that it is impossible to convert the carriers to ‘ CATOBAR’ ( catapults and arrestor wire ) configuration now that QE is complete and POW is nearly complete. The only compatable aircraft remains the F35B ( and the Osprey, which is an entirely different class of aircraft ) and of course helicopters. The fact remains that a carrier group cannot function without escorts and that a large proportion of our tiny surface fleet is out of action, with all 6 Daring class destroyers out of action for an average of 300 days in the last year due to engine and electrical problems.
The defence section of the 2015 manifesto is not valid anymore. A fact that Bolton seems to not have noticed.
