Rees Mogg Is The New Farage – Alastair Campbell
Former spin-doctor for Tony Blair and now a leading Remoaner, Alastair Campbell has said that Jacob Rees-Mogg is the new Nigel Farage. Mr Campbell, speaking to the Daily Express, was making an impassioned plea to Jeremy Corbyn to become a fully-fledged Remain party. He told the Brexit-supporting newspaper that Mr Rees-Mogg’s prominence in the Brexit movement was an illustration of how Brexit is being driven by the ‘hard-right’:
Why has Jacob Rees-Mogg become such a prominent voice in this?
Because the hard right – he’s the new Farage, Rees-Mogg. This is the hard right driving the hard right agenda.
Mr Campbell insisted Jeremy Corbyn must explicilty oppose Brexit. He said:
I think the Labour Party has to oppose this. I understand the thing that we are worried about losing seats and they are worried about whether Ukip would come back and all of that sort of thing
Corbyn and Shadow Chancellor view the EU as a ‘rich mans club’ Mr Campbell argued but he said this is ‘not the case’ he insisted.
