WATCH: FA Chief Martin Glenn Compares UKIP To ISIS
This is one of those stories that may well have slipped under your radar but has been bubbling away through the day. Martin Glenn, Chief Executive of the Football Association launched an extraordinary tirade sparked by the Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, wearing a yellow ribbon in support of imprisoned Catalans.
He said “we don’t want” the Jewish Star of David, swastika, or ex-Zimbabwe leader Robert Mugabe on a shirt. Mr Glenn failed to explain how he expected the Israeli national team to proceed who, of course, wear on their kit the Star Of David. Understandably, miffed Jewish groups including the Jewish Leadership Council demanded and indeed received an apology.
However, somewhat less reported are his comments reproduced below in which he compared UKIP to ISIS.
I presume our apology is in the post?
