WATCH: “Global Britain NONSENSE!” – SNP Remoaner MP Hits Out At Nigel Farage On Question Time
A remoaning Scottish MP last night on Question Time launched an attack on former UKIP Leader Nigel Farage’s ‘nonsense’ about Brexit – just after a young Brexiteer in the audience had dispelled the remoaners’ claims that young people all voted to remain.
Stewart McDonald, the SNP MP for Glasgow South, set a bitter tone in the debate around whether or not the leave vote was right, laying his attacks on Farage – who was not present to defend himself.
McDonald said: “The idea that when Nigel Farage was launching that great big poster with all the immigrants – the idea that it was to stop the Europeans getting in so we could let people in from Latin America, from Asia, was a nonsense!
“This wasn’t about trying to re-engage with the world; all this sloganising, all this ‘global Britain’ nonsense means nothing!
“There was never a plan for winning a referendum – and the two charlatans I blame for that the most are David Cameron and George Osborne who – as soon as it got difficult and their chickens were home to roost – were off straight away.
The other panellists featured on the show were James Cleverly, Shami Chakrabarti, Paris Lees and Peter Hitchens – a group with very stark differences of opinion between one another.
