Mike Hookem To Launch UKIP Swindon Locals Campaign With FULL SLATE Of 19 Candidates

UKIP Deputy Leader Mike Hookem MEP is to launch the party’s local campaign in Swindon tomorrow along with the party’s 19 local candidates and YI Deputy Chairman Reece Coombes.
The launch, which will take place at 12:30 pm at the Jurys Inn Hotel in Swindon, is expected to have a strong attendance from UKIP members and supporters both locally and from across the country.
Lincoln Williams, Chairman of the Swindon branch will be kicking off the event and introducing the speakers, UKIP Swindon Vice-Chairman Martin Costello will make a short speech on the local issues at play, followed by speeches from Reece Coombes – who will be discussing how the local elections are important for young people and Mike Hookem – the party’s Deputy Leader.
The meeting will be followed by local canvassing with the media and a free buffet for all attendees.
The first ever full slate of 19 UKIP candidates in the town mark a very defined increase in UKIP’s strength both locally but also nationally, given that the party recently raised £300,000 in donations from members and supporters.
Martin Costello said: “We are absolutely delighted to be fielding the first ever full slate of candidates in local government elections in Swindon. This shows that UKIP is needed more now than ever before — both at a local and at a national level.
“People in Swindon feel that they have been ignored, betrayed and let down for too many years by the broken promises of both Labour and the Conservatives and that the time is long overdue for a change. UKIP are now giving people that fresh choice throughout Swindon.”
The meeting is open to the public, and will be hosted at the Jurys Inn Hotel, SN1 2NG, Swindon at 12:30 pm tomorrow – Friday 6th April.
