WATCH: Nigel Farage Warns Against Attack On Syria
Last night it was reported that today Theresa May will convene a ‘war cabinet’ and that UK participation in military action could proceed ‘within hours’ of Cabinet approval. Controversially, it appears that Parliament will not be consulted on the action taken. Meanwhile, opinion polls show a spectacularly low-level of public support for action and MP’s from across the political spectrum are voicing concerns.
Nigel Farage warned that the overthrow of Syrian President Bashar Al -Assad could lead to instability, chaos and potentially the reemergence of ISIS.
Mr Farage pointed out that this was the case even if Assad was responsible for the alleged chemical weapons attack on Douma and cited previous interventions in Iraq and Libya which have shown that there is a lack of long-term strategic thinking when Western governments intervene in this way.
