Making UKIP Great Again In Kent
Making UKIP Kent Great Again is not for the faint-hearted.
The division, demotivation and disruption caused by the Bolton Effect have been felt across the whole county. The epicentre of this bomb site is where my focus was on Saturday. UKIP Folkestone & Hythe is famous for its support of the man with the OBE and some may have concluded was forever lost to UKIP.
However, how wrong these voices of discontent are!!
As I donned the lippy and looked out at the sunshine I knew it was going to be a wonderful day for UKIP. Already I had received notification of people who wished to stand for roles of Branch Chair, Treasurer and Membership Secretary – All was not lost. So, I drove to Folkestone (some may say sped 😊) with a smile on my face, feeling very proud to be a part of this UKIP resurgence.
Those who were part of our success stories in 2014 & 2015 – true grassroots kind of people are raising their heads above the parapet once again. The “Doers” coming back to the fold and ready to embrace a new, fresh, 21st Century way of winning the hearts and minds of the public.
As I sat and listened to the Scouts Reflection at their St. George’s Parade I felt an overwhelming sense of appreciation for the dedication and commitment of those who truly believe in UKIP and what it takes to be a KIPPER at heart:
I am proud to announce the following gentlemen as duly elected officers of UKIP Folkestone & Hythe, and it is with great thanks to all members who came along and participated in the releasing of their very own Phoenix that I do so.
Branch Chair Cllr Len Laws
Treasurer Cllr Damon Robinson
Secretary (Sitting) Cllr Ian Meyers
M/Ship Secretary Terry Mullard
So as Saturday finished with a UKIP success story my thoughts are quickly turned towards UKIP Kent’s single, active By-Election campaign – Volunteers for the day, I’m told, left Sunday as a day of hope – Would 34 people turn up to lend a hand? The sun will be shining, and my faith in members had been given a boost………
Sunday’s lippy was a softer Red…….
Travelling onto the Isle of Sheppey brings back childhood memories, because of this I understand the demographics somewhat and my instinct tells me UKIP could win – Surely seasoned Kippers knew this also and would come along?
Steve Newton and Glen Swallow did – And what a positive day we had.
As one team we joined forces with our UKIP Candidate (Sunny) his agent (Minnie) and a dedicated UKIP Supporter Jordan and we started to knock on them doors………………….
A few hours later as we are driving back along the only road off the Island I reflected…….
Thank You to All Who Did Not Quit…..
My weekend has been a positive and productive one, I urge everyone to get involved in a UKIP campaign where ever they may be – good news is coming out from our troops on the ground across the country, many of us are rattling our opponents, and the public are beginning to wise up to the betrayal by the two main parties….….UKIP are back, please do come and join in with the fun as we speak out as the True Voice of the People…
