PARLIAMENTARY REPORT: The Great Establishment Deception
Tuesday we see Jamie Oliver will be talking to the Health Select Committee where he is calling for the Government to restrict the amount of junk food advertising children are exposed to.
We must stop the nanny state interfering with life. Parents are the ones to decide how to bring their children up. The EU external tariffs artificially inflate food prices leaving many parents no choice but to buy cheap fatty foods.
Sir Mark Sedwill, the UK National Security Advisor, will be in front of the Defence Committee at 10.00am on the modernising defence programme.
The defence procurement programme is deeply flawed and needs a complete overhaul. Far too much of public money is spent on hugely inflated contracts whilst our number of ground troops has diminished.
Penny Mordaunt will speak with the International Development Team for a session on the definition and the administration of overseas development aid.
When I attended a policy presentation at the Institute of Economic Affairs in Westminster earlier this year I suggested that there is a misconception with people that all our foreign aid budget is spent on the poor. The Government still insist we pay 0.7% of GNI on foreign aid. In fact, only 16% of the £13.4 billion spent in 2016 was spent on crisis and humanitarian aid. The rest of this vast amount of taxpayers money was spent on vanity projects and for large charities to spend on lobbying. We have always said as a party we would cut foreign aid to 0.2% of GNI and redirect these vital funds into such things as the NHS and social care amongst other things.
Finally on Thursday David Davis will be taking Department for Exiting The EU questions at 9.30am.
We are my friends witnessing the greatest deception the establishment has ever pulled on the electorate. We must keep making our voices heard and rally together to save Brexit.
