LIVE: Local Election Results As UKIP Stands 554 Candidates

Reece Coombes

As a 16-year-old member of UKIP with a cardboard Nigel Farage cut-out in his bedroom, Reece is hardly your bog-standard student, but he cherishes his independent thinking as his greatest strength. Reece is the founder and owner of Kipper Central, a UKIP community blog with thousands of daily hits and is also the Deputy Chairman of Young Independence, UKIP's youth wing, where he works hard to promote Brexit and radical thinking to young people across Britain.

Most likely could not afford to stand one

We are in the same position in south holland and deepings

Me neither, had to spoil my ballot paper. The Greens and Lib-Dims fielded candidates all wards so if they can do it why not the kippers? Shame.

Because sadly, the general demoralisation of the ground troops / grass roots of UKIP by the privileged Party hierarchy ( yes – that’s YOU MEPs [ with some honourable exceptions including the current Leader of the Party ] ) over the past two years has meant that so few had the heart to stand again.
HOPEFULLY this general demoralisation can now be reversed – with UKIP being the only Party in tune with the nation on mass uncontrolled immigration ( which all the traditional parties, not to mention Greens and SNP are massively infavour of ) Fishing rights , and recovery more generally of our sovereignty over the 200 mile EEZ.
We need to build up to the autumn Party Conference…………( where ? hopefully somewhere in the NorthEast to help re take the fight to the Labour heartlands ) and move on from there : first overtake LibDems in the polls, thus being entitled to proper coverage on BBC etc., then winning seats and campaigning massively for Fair Votes Now – PR for the Commons as a matter of urgency.

I know for a fact in my Borough which is Barnet and the particular ward i’m in a lot of people didn’t vote it was the big 3 and the Greens. I feel as a Party had we not had Bolton the plant who was too busy off philandering and left no local elections plan to take over. It was like everything was thrown together in 6 weeks and Gerrard done a great job with his team, considering what the Philander left. We’ve still got backing and a lot of it I just hope next time round we’re on a better footing!

SO what happened in the county elections the previous year then? because the result was the same and that was before anyone had ever even heard the name of Henry Bolton.

Erm, fielding candidates needs volunteers? Did you consider standing yourself?
