YOU’RE ON!! Outrage As Smug Labour Peer Bets Brexit Wont Happen
Speaking yesterday in the House Of Lords, as the second chamber once again lived-up to its reputation as a House Of Treason, smug Labour Peer Lord Foulkes (pictured above) sparked outrage as he offered a £10 bet on Brexit not happening.
He offered the wager to Lords’ Brexit Minister Lord Callanan. The Remoaning Peer said:
“I can come to the assistance of the Liberal Democrats, who seem to be at sixes and sevens over whether or not we’re going to be leaving the European Union.
“I’m certain that we’re not going to be leaving the European Union.
“Last week, we had some questions on the dangers of gambling, particularly internet gambling.
“I’m prepared to put a wager on with the minister of at least £10 – I’m generous – that by the date designated for exiting, that we will not be leaving the European Union.
“Will the minister take on that bet?”
However, Lord Foulkes was clearly not prepared to put too much money on the line. Peers can opt for either a £300 per day attendance allowance for attending debates in the second chamber or opt for a ‘reduced’ rate of £150 per day.
