It is as if we have been held hostage in a cult of remain and EU obedience. The high priests and priestesses of remain dominate the establishment. It’s time for them to face the end of their cheating and conniving cult.

Your spot-on with your comment John. There is a funny but sick side to these Lords. Most are very well healed and consider that they have rights above the Commoner, but the facts as seen now, indicate they are just money grubbers. Filth in ermine !

THE PALACE OF WESTMINSTER is in a total mess, and even the building is crumbling ! THE LORDS have moved from their remit, and are following self interest ! LABOUR are tossing the coin to make a decision, not for the Nation, but for where the most votes are ! THE TORY GOVERNMENT is presenting a supine front in Europe, even though the people have told them what to do, with more than a million vote majority ! ………. THE PEOPLE have the ability to end this embarrassment with their votes to UKIP. A Party that puts the Nation first, for the people’s benefit ! ( It will be GOODBYE TO THE LORDS, at last !).

The present HOL is self destructing. This brings an opportunity to devise a new entity that is free from Party control tasked to consider legislation in it’s early form and offer advice based on expertise and knowledge. Relocated to a new location with the latest and best facilities and peopled by genuine experts in various fields of knowledge and activities. The present HOL could be restricted to ceremonial events and hosting historical celebrations.

    • MIKE MAUNDER says:

Bernard, I almost agree with everything you have said. Due to their example of self interest, I consider that they are not worth the light, heat and grand accommodation; they have to be banned from the Palace of Westminster. A professional grouping from Law and business should be appointed instead, for revision and advice is all that is required. We must be rid of the fools !

  4. Pamela Preedy says:

If abolition of the Lords is in the next Conservative manifesto, I might be tempted to peg my nose and vote for them! But I doubt it will happen, because the political elite of both Houses is such a network of mutual back-scratchers. What would the present lot of loafers in the Commons have to look forward to if their opportunity for a sinecure with generous allowance for snoozing on the red benches were snatched away from them?
