RED LINES: DUP BLASTS May And Threaten Pull Out
The leader of the Democratic Unionist Party has blasted Theresa May and threatened to pull out of the deal propping the government up.
With the Cabinet divided and unsure of a way forward post-Brexit for Northern Ireland, Ms Foster has said customs parity between Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK is vital to maintaining the DUP’s support.
She told Sky News:
“For us only red line is that we are not treated any different to the rest of the United Kingdom and there are no trade barriers put up between us and our biggest market which is, of course, Great Britain.”
June is set to be a pivotal month for Mrs May’s embattled government and the entire Brexit deal as a crucial EU summit is to be held and we approach the second anniversary of the historic referendum victory for Brexit.
