UKIP’s Young Independence Conference Cancelled after Violent Leftist Threats

UKIP’s Young Independence (YI) Conference, #Horizons, was yesterday cancelled after threats from a far left organisation to the venue that was hosting the event. The conference was due to be a big event, with 8 UKIP Leadership candidates, several MEPs and, of course, the YI Council in attendance.

In a statement to YI Members, Jamie Ross McKenzie – the YI Chairman, said:

“Unfortunately, the Hard Left ‘Stand Up to Racism’ organisation planned a protest at the hotel and has sent a large amount of abusive and threatening emails to Hilton Hotel staff. A handful of emails contained threats of violence if they host our conference, branding UKIP as ‘far right’, ‘fascist’ and ‘Islamophobic’ to name a few. The Hilton inform us that the quantity of emails that were of an aggressive nature was overwhelming and they decided that owing to an increased security risk posed by the Far Left to delegates, hotel guests and Hilton staff they have been left with very little option than to cancel the event.”

These threats and their results will be seen as the final coffin in the nail for free speech in the UK.

Conference-goers have seen the worst effects of the leftists’ threats as many were unable to make cancellations on their bookings and one YI member had even returned early from their holiday for the conference, to find that it had been canceled.

8 of the 10 leadership candidates had confirmed their attendance at the hustings before violent threats from the far left forced the event to be cancelled.

YI had also booked a 3-hour boat cruise for the evening but the leftists got wind of that and threatened to damage the boat in a series of threatening messages to the small cruise business’ owner, who was forced to cancel the cruise for the safety of her and her business.

After the original event was cancelled, YI had informally arranged a meet-up at a pub near the original venue, but a YI Member (whose identity is yet to be uncovered) leaked the details of this to the far leftists who then also threatened the new venue and forced the event to yet again be cancelled.

YI Members are absolutely furious at this attack on free speech and, by extension, democracy. The leftists have a lot to answer for and as yet are totally unaware that they have done anything in the wrong.

If you agree that these violent threats were an attack on democracy and you stand by YI’s right to hold a conference – regardless of whether or not you are a member – like and share this article and get the word out! Free speech can only win when we fight for it.

I will go far as to say that stand up to racism is a terrorist organization. Why ? Because like terrorists, they incite fear and make threats, and even violence to achieve their own political gain.

I called out this group on facebook and a few others did too. They removed our comments and said goons and liars removed. They know what they did, but being the left they will deny all they want of things which they have done and try to blame it on others.

Can we not use ‘leftist’ as an insult or derogatory remark please?

I’m on the left of the political spectrum but still a Leaver, and still a Kipper, use the term extreme-left, or far-left, rather than leftist? Many left-leaning UKIP members! We’re not about left or right but rather right or wrong

I condemn such threats and aggression towards UKIP as far left has no right to sabotage this event. Why they didn’t do anything for abused children , muslims pakistani grooming gangs , mosques that are preaching hate and radicalising youth. Shame on hate n mindless opposition as it reflects how far they have dropped in love of Islam muslims rapists and terrorists mosques n sharia.

A massive error to cancel, one can’t be put off by a few ‘threats’, simply inform the police and ensure they do their job. Rolling over is never an option.
