WATCH: “Garbage In Equals Garbage Out!” Leading Brexiteer BLASTS Remoaners On BBC Question Time
Hitting out at remoaners on the BBC Question Time panel (and in particular, Terry Christian), Leave Means Leave Co-Chairman Richard Tice described claims about the economy and economic forecasts as “a load of absolute rubbish!”
Last night’s episode featured four remainers and just one Brexiteer; remainers Claire Perry MP, Emily Thornberry MP, Rachel Sylvester, Terry Christian and brexiteer Richard Tice.
He first pointed out to host David Dimbleby that he wanted a “clean & proper Brexit” rather than a “hard Brexit”, both terms which have caused a lot of confusion.
He said: “Look, the reality is about this, and with economic forecasts – particularly forecasts 15 years out, garbage in equals garbage out.
“These models were produced by the same people who during the referendum campaign – the Treasury and the Civil Service – they said that within the year, we’d be in deep recession, we’d lose 500,000 jobs, the tech firms would leave, the banks would leave.
“What a load of absolute rubbish!
“We’ve got 400,000 more people employed in this country, we’ve got record low levels of unemployment, we’ve got so much to celebrate and the great thing is, the opportunity is just beginning.
“Here locally, near to Darlington, down at Teesport, we’ve got a wonderful opportunity as long as we leave the Customs Union because that’s crucial. We could have a Freeport!
“Freeports generate thousands and thousands of manufacturing jobs, as your local Richmond MP recently proved and that’s a wonderful opportunity and we can balance the economy towards more money for actual jobs in less-well-off areas.
“They can’t even forecast one year in advance, let alone 15!”
