Good to see Peter Bone who was instrumental in starting Grassroots Out calling for an Independence Day public holiday. I would not call it a Bank Holiday or refer to the number of holidays that they have in Europe rather look to the Commonwealth where public holidays mean something. For example, Australia Day, ANZAC Day, Canada Day, Victoria Day and many more local holidays.

I would be very surprised if our rotten establishment acceded to this splendid idea. They will argue that it would be divisive. They can’t even get our passports made in the UK. In the event of a holiday not being declared then we should simply take matters into our own hands down tools and party.

PETER BONE is someone we call, here in Northampton, ‘A Good Old Boy’ and his constituency is just up the road from my address in Northampton North. Another Bank Holiday would find favour with most people, and I would hope that ‘Independence’ could be carried forward upon this, in the hope that we never again make such an error again !
