OUT OF TOUCH: Corbyn & Abbot Say “Racist and Violent” Tommy Robinson “Has No Answers”
Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and Diane Abbott have accused Tommy Robinson of having “no answers” to Britain’s problems and went as far as calling him “racist” and “violent” in a recent video posted by the far-left organisation “Stand Up To Racism”.
Robinson, who founded the EDL in 2009 before leaving the organisation when it took a lurch to the far-right, was locked up in prison for exposing a grooming gang scandal earlier this year.
Last Saturday, a #FreeTommyRobinson protest took place in London where Freedom activists campaigned for Tommy’s release from prison, but the protest was met by a crowd of far-left Stand Up To Racism activists, supported by Corbyn and Abbott.
In a video promoting the anti-Tommy and anti-Trump protests last week, Corbyn said: “I want to live in a world where we support each other rather than abuse each other.
“Donald Trump’s treatment of Mexican people and particularly Mexican children and construction of a wall is quite disgraceful. We have to show that by our presence when he comes here.”
He continued: “Tommy Robinson has been promoting division within our society and within our communities; he doesn’t have any answers to the needs of communities.
“By dividing people, attacking them on racist grounds, all we do is weaken everybody and solve no problems at all.”
Adding to Corbyn’s comments, Labour’s Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott said: “The violence that Tommy Robinson, the EDL and the Football Lads Alliance represent is a real threat to the entire society.”
Attempting to portray the ordinary working class members of the FLA and similar groups as far-right terrorists, she continued “We saw my colleague Jo Cox killed by a fascist on the streets of her own town.”
The video also features various other Stand Up To Racism activists and Labour MPs accusing the ‘far-right’ DFLA and Tommy Robinson supporters of “racism”, “Islamophobia”, “homophobia” and even warning that they would “attack people of a different faith, of a different skin colour.”
