“Resign Today!”: Theresa May SAVAGED By Thousands Of Facebook Users Over Brexit Deal
Theresa May has faced attacks from almost every single comment on her Facebook page, with thousands of furious users calling for her resignation.
Her page, which has almost half a million likes, posts regularly on latest government policy; in particular surrounding the Brexit deal, but has recently been swarmed with a barrage of comments attacking her leadership.
On a recent post sharing a video of her Brexit speech in parliament, she recieved over 1,100 comments, almost all of which were against her proposed deal and against her leadership.
One user wrote: “Your blatantly lying we are not stupid. Whoever is pulling your strings, because lets face it your just a puppet, is going to have you seen as the worst and most hated prime ministers in history.”
Another user, arguing in support of a no-deal Brexit, added: “If we’d have left with no deal in the first place we’d already have those trade deals in place.”
MPs will today be debating the security and immigration impacts of May’s Brexit deal, in the second of five days of Brexit surrounding the EU Withdrawal Agreement, before taking a final vote on the deal next Tuesday.
One of the best measures of public opinion in the modern day is social media, and Theresa May’s page in particular is very revealing.
Another user commented: “Yawnnnnn, you may believe your own lies, we do not. What an embarrassment you are. For goodness sake step down before all trace of self respect has gone. Woooppps too late!”
One other comment read: “Thats not what Brussels will say. We can only do deal if they conform to EU rules.
“Your surrender has hamstrung us. Resign, and DO IT TODAY.”
Another user took the opportunity to share a petition calling on Theresa May to reject the UN’s Global Compact on migration, a petition which is has reached just shy of 100,000 signatures. They wrote: “Everyone please don’t forget this! this petition is being ignored by the government and should have had a response by now please consider signing and sharing it thank you.”
