GRASSROOTS REVOLT: Conservative Association Chairs Rebel Over ‘Misuse’ Of Funds

Despite the best efforts of Conservative Central Office, local Conservative Associations and activists have turned on them for pumping out pro-deal propaganda.

A letter signed by 29 Association Chairman says: “We are appalled that Associations have recently been receiving promotional literature for distribution to members of the public urging them to lobby MPs to back the Prime Minister’s proposed Withdrawal Agreement with the EU. You will be well aware of how controversial this proposed agreement is. Polls show Conservative MPs, Party members and the British public strongly opposed.”

It continues to say that the use of Party funds in this manner is “questionable at best”: “Whether we voted Leave or Remain, or agree with the Prime Minister’s deal or disagree, never should Party funds or Party-funded CCHQ staff be used to lobby against our duly elected Members of Parliament”.

Local Conservative MP’s are also on effective strike in some areas.

Nice to see how our TAX MONEY is being spent again. More propaganda! Atleast some of the branches have done the right thing in not delivering them. If I get one through my letter box I’ll send it to the local Tory Branch with no postage on it.

It is NOT our tax money as no political party receives money from the government they have to raise it themselves from membership fees, donations and fund raising events. The good news from this story is that Tory branches may stop raising money for the central party organisation.

Good news – it could be the beginning of the end for the Tories . Never in the field of human endeavour has so much bullshit been forced on so many by so few . RIP Theresa May

  3. Michael Bearsby-Cook says:

Should I receive such literature I’ll put it through the shredder prior to returning it, & immediately cancel membership, the UK had its referendum, & I expect it to be enacted.

  4. Malcolm Jackson says:

Glad to see that Tory Party grassroots are fighting back against the treachery of May and her sycophants.

Looking forward to this coming Sunday’s UKIP Brexit march.

  5. MIKE MAUNDER says:

Unless UKIP can stage a miracle, it looks like our next Government could be Labour.
So many voters are short on facts, and probably don’t want to know anyway. These voters will vote Labour, not because they support that Party, but because they are not Tory !
What I can’t fathom is why the Tory backbenchers have not taken action to remove Mrs May. Can’t they see that so many will lose their seats at a General Election ? I live in a marginal, and will lose a fine MP, simply because he is a Tory !
