SHUT UP: Remoaning Lineker SLAPPED DOWN By BBC Colleagues
Gary Lineker has made no secret of his hostility to Brexit. The Match Of The Day host however bit off more than he could chew in a recent exchange with his hero, former England goalkeeper Peter Shilton.
Shilts who is a keen Brexiteer, wanted the Conservatives to put a new leader in place who “believes in Brexit”, and tweeted his support for Jacob Rees-Mogg:

Lineker, obviously unimpressed, tweeted that you should “never read a tweet from your hero.” However, he was promptly put back in his box. Cricket commentating legend, Jonathan Agnew told Lineker to keep his political views “to himself” and reminded him of BBC Editorial guidelines and claimed if he was as vocal as Lineker he would have been sacked. Aggers, who voted Remain, at least has the good grace to recognise the debate should be over:
As I have repeatedly stated I voted remain. We lost. https://t.co/2daXnp8tTN

Undeterred, Lineker “thanked” Aggers for his concern but said that he would carry on tweeting what he wanted too and suggested he only had a problem with the tweets because he didn’t agree with their content.
