UKIP will decide its candidate for the expected by-election in Peterborough on January 5th when the NEC will decide whether to endorse the unanimous recommendation of the local Branch that Councillor John Whitby be selected as the UKIP Candidate.

Cllr Whitby tonight received the unanimous support of the Peterborough & North West Cambridgeshire branch at the meeting it held tonight. He is a long-standing Councillor for Fletton & Stanground on Peterborough City Council.

In a speech asking for the branches backing, he said that the expected by-election is a “huge opportunity” for Peterborough to elect a conscientious and committed Brexiteer to represent the city which overwhelmingly voted to Leave in the 2016 Referendum.

Branch members expressed their strong belief that Cllr Whitby is the best person to represent UKIP in the contest that is expected to follow the sentencing of disgraced MP Fiona Onasanya in the New Year for perverting the course of justice.

There is every reason to expect John Whitby of UKIP to be elected as MP for Peterborough.
The only awkward question is not to John, but to the voters of Peterborough. How on earth did they get to elect such an ignorant Labour person ? Was the vote turn out particularly low ?
You have to work really hard to be bad enough, for the Labour Party to bring about excommunication of their MP !
The very best of luck John. Work for a high turn out vote. Now is the time for UKIP to wipe the floor with Lib/Lab/Con. !

  6. James Hammond says:

As the local branch have endorsed John as their man, then John it should be. It would be good to see a poster truck out as soon as possible and as many neighbouring Ukippers making their presence felt in general. It is quite an interesting challenge for Ukip given the recent events in the Party.

Sounds good but with that eye patch won’t the media have a field day?!

  8. Robert Bryant says:

Treason May has been colluding with Corbyn from the start of her getting charged, to get the right slap on the wrist non-sentence to prevent the African going to jail.
    There won’t be a by-election, because it was obviously a mis-trial.
