PROJECT FEAR: Batten Dismisses ‘No-Deal Prepartions’ As “PR Exercise”
Gerard Batten MEP, UKIP’s Leader has dismissed the much-vaunted preparations announced by the government as a new Project Fear. Ministers were given £2bn extra revenue to prepare for a scenario where Britain exits the EU next year without a deal being agreed.
Batten, however, dismissed measures such the reported mobilisation of 3,500 extra troops as “absurd”. He argued that far from marking a shift in government policy, the announcement actually marks a continuation of its project to scupper Brexit: “Our government is working with the EU hand in glove to scupper Brexit and we are now in the advanced stages of the betrayal project. The only way for the British people to fight back against the traitorous political establishment is through the ballot box. UKIP, the party of Brexit is the only party committed 100% to Britain leaving the EU. The 17.4 million who voted to leave must back us, or consign the country to perpetual EU membership in one form or another.”
2019 is set to be a decisive year in the showdown between the backstabbing establishment and the British people and the outcome will decide whether we truly leave the EU or stay shackled to it.
