‘YOU ARE A JOKE’: Angry Constituents Turn On Onasanya
Peterboroughs errant MP, Fiona Onasanya, probably didn’t expect much of a reception when she stuck her head above the parapet but, at least she apologised to her constituents after being found guilty of perverting the course of justice, right?
WRONG. Onasanya used her most recent column in local paper, the Peterborough Telegraph to recommit herself to “fighting injustice”. She didn’t even mention, let alone apologise for her conviction.
Angry constituents turned on her in comments and questioned the papers decision to publish. One said: “I voted for her and was prepared to go with innocent until proven guilty, despite some fairly ropey excuses. Now she has been found guilty, despite the editor’s note, this has been called wrong. Privileges should start to drop away pretty quickly regardless of the sentencing not yet taking place. Poor call PT.”
Another said: Why have you got a convicted criminal for you? No one would believe a word she says as it has been proven she is a compulsive liar. Sorry but by continuing to let her write for you shows the paper is not trustworthy either.
A few asked the obvious question “Wow. From jail?”. Quite how she expects to carry on her crusade from potential prison is beyond me as it is everyone else. Although in public she continues to insist she will tough it out, one comment left revealed (perhaps) her true expectations: All her staff were made redundant just before Christmas after her guilty verdict. I hope this means she going down.
Lets hope the new year sees justice swiftly done and the people of Peterborough get a chance to elect a decent MP.
