SABOTEURS: Anti-Brexit MP’s Plot To Paralyse Government
Dominic Grieve MP, who led the campaign for Parliament to have it’s ‘Meaningful Vote’ on the Withdrawal Agreement, is scheming with other Remoaning MP’s to “paralyse” the government and force it to call a second referendum.
The Remoaning ‘Best For Britain’ group produced a report, which Grieve wrote the foreword for, which outlined how MP’s could block both the Withdrawal Agreement and a ‘No Deal’ Brexit.
It said: “The clearest opportunity for replacing no deal as the default option is through political pressure via the Finance Bill. The key point is that income tax and corporation tax are annual taxes, authorisation of which runs out at the end of the tax year.”
If the plot were successful, the government would be blocked from collecting income tax and corporation tax as its authorisation would expire and it would then become unable to pass and fund key legislation. In his foreword, Grieve dismisses a no deal Brexit as “irrational fantasies” and urges Parliament to back a second vote.
